Privacy policy

By the Over 60s Singles editorial teamUpdated · 3 min read

This notice covers the Over 60s Singles website at www.over60ssingles.com: the guides and information pages you are reading now. The members area at members.over60ssingles.com, where you create a profile and talk to other members, has its own member privacy policy, which applies to everything you do there.

Who is responsible

This website is run by High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation (file no. 10670515), registered office 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA. High Intent Media Inc is the data controller for the limited information this website handles.

What this website collects

This is a static information site. It does not ask you to log in and does not build a profile of you.

  • No cookies. This website sets no cookies.
  • No advertising or tracking scripts. There are no advertising networks, analytics trackers or social media pixels on these pages.
  • Server logs. The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel's servers record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, the type of browser and device, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working properly, for example to spot attacks and fix errors.

If you type your email address into a join box

Some pages have a box where you can enter your email address to start joining. When you do, that address is sent to the members area at members.over60ssingles.com so your sign-up can begin. From that point it is handled under the member privacy policy, not this notice.

Remember that profiles in the members area are shared with partner sites in the same network, so members who joined through those sites can see your profile. The member privacy policy explains this in full.

Why we use this information

We use server log data because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable website. We don't sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to identify individual readers except where needed to deal with misuse of the site or to comply with the law.

Who else sees it

Vercel, as our hosting provider, processes server log data on our behalf. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Because the company and its hosting provider are based in the United States, information may be processed outside the UK and the European Economic Area.

How long we keep it

Server logs are kept only for as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, in line with the hosting provider's standard retention, and are then deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information. Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR) and the EU GDPR these include the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. Several US states give residents similar rights, including the right to know, correct and delete personal information.

To make a request about this website, contact us through the help centre. For anything about your membership or profile, the member privacy policy explains your options.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first through the help centre. You also have the right to complain to a regulator:

  • UK: the Information Commissioner's Office
  • EU and EEA: the data protection authority in the country where you live
  • United States: your state attorney general or, where one exists, your state's privacy regulator

Changes to this notice

If the way this website handles information changes, for example if we add analytics, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect. See also our terms of use and about page.
